Skills Validation
- Illustrate the hierarchical network design model and architecture using the access, distribution, and core layers
- Compare and contrast the various hardware and software switching mechanisms and operation, while defining the Ternary Content Addressable - Memory (TCAM) and Content Addressable Memory (CAM), along with process switching, fast switching, and Cisco Express Forwarding concepts
- Troubleshoot Layer 2 connectivity using VLANs and trunking
- Implementation of redundant switched networks using Spanning Tree Protocol
- Troubleshooting link aggregation using Etherchannel

Prerequisites
CCNP Enterprise candidates should have three to five years of experience implementing enterprise networking solutions and a good understanding of the exam topics before taking the exam.

Recertification
CCNP certification is valid for three years.
Certification holders can recertify by:
- Passing one technology core exam
- Passing any two professional concentration exams
- Passing one CCIE lab exam
- Earning 80 continuing education credits
The recertification requirements must be met prior to the certification expiration date. Individuals with expired certifications must repeat the entire certification exam process in order to regain their certification status. Learn more at the Cisco website.
