Exams such as AZ-500 and MS-500 measures your overall knowledge of Azure and Microsoft 365 security solutions and features. Microsoft has now released four new exams measuring skills on specific security solutions instead. You can obtain a new Fundamentals certification and three new Associate certifications.
Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals
This certification is targeted to those looking to familiarise themselves with the fundamentals of Security, Compliance and Identity (SCI) across cloud-based and related Microsoft services. This is a broad audience that may include business stakeholders, new or existing IT professionals or students who have an interest in Microsoft Security, Compliance and Identity solutions.
Microsoft Security, Compliance and Identity Fundamentals (code SC-900)
Candidates should be familiar with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 and understand how Microsoft security, compliance, and identity solutions can span across these solution areas to provide a holistic and end-to-end solution.

Azure Security Engineer Associate
Candidates for this certification should have subject matter expertise implementing security controls and threat protection, managing identity and access, and protecting data, applications, and networks in cloud and hybrid environments as part of an end-to-end infrastructure. Responsibilities for this role include maintaining the security posture, identifying and remediating vulnerabilities by using a variety of security tools, implementing threat protection, and responding to security incident escalations.
Microsoft Azure Security Technologies (M-AZ500)
A candidate for this exam should have strong skills in scripting and automation; a deep understanding of networking, virtualization and cloud N-tier architecture; and a strong familiarity with cloud capabilities and products and services for Azure, plus other Microsoft products and services.

Microsoft 365 Security Administrator Associate
The Microsoft 365 Security Administrator collaborates with the Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator, business stakeholders and other workload administrators to plan and implement security strategies and to ensure the solutions comply with the organization’s policies and regulations. This role proactively secures Microsoft 365 enterprise environments. Responsibilities include responding to threats, implementing, managing and monitoring security and compliance solutions for the Microsoft 365 environment. Security Administrators respond to incidents, investigations and enforcement of data governance. The Microsoft 365 Security Administrator is familiar with Microsoft 365 workloads and hybrid environments. This role has strong skills and experience with identity protection, information protection, threat protection, security management and data governance.
Microsoft 365 Security Administration (code M-MS-500)
This course will help you to accomplish the following technical tasks: implement and manage identity and access; implement and manage threat protection; implement and manage information protection; and manage governance and compliance features in Microsoft 365.

Security Operations Analyst Associate

Microsoft Security Operations Analyst – to be released in April 2021
Candidates should have foundational knowledge of Microsoft 365 and Azure. They should be familiar with cybersecurity threat mitigation and response concepts.

Identity and Access Administrator Associate
Do you design, implement, and operate an organization’s identity and access management systems by using Azure AD? Do you manage tasks such as providing secure authentication and authorization access to enterprise applications? Do you troubleshoot, monitor, and report the identity and access environment? If so, you are the right person to be taking the new Microsoft Security Identity and Access exam.
Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator – to be released in April 2021
A candidate should have previous knowledge of Azure Active Directory, either on-premises or in the cloud. An understanding of security concepts like Zero Trusty and Least Access Privilege are a plus. Candidates should have strong familiarity with Microsoft cloud capabilities, products and services.

You will need to pass exam SC-300 to earn this certification.
Information Protection Administrator Associate
The Information Protection Administrator plans and implements controls that meet organisational compliance needs. This person is responsible for translating requirements and compliance controls into technical implementation. They assist organisational control owners to become and stay compliant. They work with information technology (IT) personnel, business application owners, human resources, and legal stakeholders to implement technology that supports policies and controls necessary to sufficiently address regulatory requirements for their organisation.
Microsoft Information Protection Administrator – to be released in April 2021
A candidate should have a foundational knowledge of Microsoft security and compliance technologies, as well as basic knowledge of information protection concepts.
