CCSP - Certified Cloud Security Professional

The CCSP Certification shows you have the advanced technical skills and knowledge to design, manage and secure data, applications and infrastructure in the cloud using best practices, policies and procedures established by the cybersecurity experts at (ISC)².

CCSP is ideal certification for IT and information security leaders responsible for applying best practices to cloud security architecture, design, operations and service orchestration.

About the exam

The CCSP exam evaluates your expertise across six security domains. Think of the domains as topics you need to master based on your professional experience and education.

The ISC² CCSP Domains are:

  • Architectural Concepts and Design Requirements (19%)
  • Cloud Data Security (20%)
  • Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Security (19%)
  • Cloud Application Security (15%)
  • Operations (15%)
  • Legal and Compliance (12%)

The CCSP exam is an MCQ with 125 questions. Pass rate is 70%. Candidates have 4 hours to take this exam in a Pearson Vue testing center.

(ISC)² recommends candidates review their exam policies and procedures prior to registering for the examination.

Prerequisites

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years cumulative paid full-time work experience in information technology, of which 3 years must be in information security and 1 year in 1 or more of the 6 domains of the CCSP CBK. Earning CSA’s CCSK certificate can be substituted for 1 year of experience in 1 or more of the 6 domains of the CCSP CBK. Earning (ISC)²’s CISSP credential can be substituted for the entire CCSP experience requirement.

Recertification

Once you have passed your CCSP exam and are certified, you need to recertify every three years by:

  • Earning 20 continuing professional education (CPE) credits each year.
  • Paying an Annual Maintenance Fee (AMF).
