Parte superiorEffective decision makers are those rare individuals who are able to consistently identify and choose the best option among multiple alternatives. Their decisions are imaginative, reasoned, and defensible.
This course provides students with the training and tools necessary to become imaginative, reasoned decision makers. The course introduces structure into the way students approach problem solving. Students learn to clarify problems in terms of objectives and issues, with a view toward outcomes. Using the critical thinking technique allows students to dismantle their reasons to understand the inputs and implications of their thought processes. This training allows students to develop and express positions that are logical and explicable to others. After completion of the course, students will understand why most decisions are of poor quality, and they will be able to identify weaknesses in routine decision-making processes.
