Students will learn how to upgrade to the latest version of the VIOS, version 4.1. They will explore the various options available for upgrading a VIOS. In the hands-on labs students will use the viosupgrade utility to upgrade a VIOS.

Parte superior- Unit 1: Virtual I/O server upgrades (1 hour and 20 minutes)
- Exercise 1: Accessing the lab environment (35 minutes)
- Unit 2: VIOS upgrade methods (2 hours)
- Exercise 2: Preparing a VIOS for an upgrade (40 minutes)
- Unit 3: The viosupgrade tool (2 hours and 10 minutes)
- Exercise 3: Upgrading a VIOS with the viosupgrade tool (1 hour)
Pre-requisitos
Parte superior- Students should have basic knowledge of IBM Power Systems, PowerVM virtualization, and Virtual I/O Server (VIOS) administration.
- Familiarity with VIOS command-line operations and virtualized storage and networking is recommended.
