Why Agile teams can not do without leader

Global Knowledge

You've probably heard of it: Agile Leadership. It is a term where a contradiction is hidden: agile is about self-managing teams. The philosophy behind this is that as an organization and as a team you become more effective when decision making takes place at the place where the expertise is present. And: empowerment of teams, makes a team more effective. After all, professionals are not in their power when they have to 'do' a lot, but they are not 'allowed'.

Especially for managers who have to deal with a role as Agile Leader (such as a Scrum Master), Global Knowledge has developed the training Serving, Facilitating and Coaching Leadership in an Agile environment. This training is about developing leadership styles that are appropriate in an Agile environment. During this four-day training the following questions are answered:

  • Do you know yourself, as a serving leader, are you aware of your strong and developing points?
  • As a manager you set the framework, but how do you create room for maneuver in your team to come up with the optimal solution?
  • How do you lead your team members to answer questions?
  • How do you get the best out of your team members?
  • How do you ensure that everyone has their say?
  • What do you do when the energy in your team falls or when emotions predominate?
  • When do you grab and when do you let a process run its course?
  • How do you ensure a good evaluation where everyone shows the back of his tongue?
  • How do you promote cooperation, sharing knowledge and use each other's knowledge?
